I attempted to unlock it using an unlock tool, but the result was negative, indicating that the device had new security implemented.
When dealing with new security measures, it is impossible to bypass them using unlock tools. The only options available are either through finger gymnastics or using a UV box. In this video, we will be using the direct MMC method through a UV box to unlock the Vivo Y16.
Why Choose the Direct MMC Method?
I chose this method because it guarantees a 100% success rate compared to other methods. The direct MMC method involves a direct connection to the device’s memory chip and CPU through the UV box. This method ensures a higher likelihood of success, although the risk of damaging the device is present.
When dealing with direct MMC connections, the risk of damaging the device is high. This is usually due to a direct connection to critical components such as clock signals, which, if soldered incorrectly, can result in total device failure.
Process Overview
I have already disassembled the Vivo Y16, and as you can see, the device is in pristine condition. Before proceeding with the direct MMC method, you may wonder why I did not choose the finger gymnastics option.
The finger gymnastics method, while popular on YouTube, is often unreliable and can sometimes be a hoax. Therefore, I opted for the UV box method, which offers a higher success rate. However, it is essential to proceed with caution and perform the process slowly to minimize the risk of damage.
Experience with Direct MMC
I have had a negative experience in the past when attempting to bypass the Oppo A3s. Due to a mistake in the clock signal connection, the device ended up being damaged. However, after re-soldering the connections, I was able to successfully unlock the device.
