Nice work apple
For some reason when i erased it it asked me for the apple id password or phone number.. as this is my dad’s mac i dont know his apple id password. what do i do?? Also.. what will happen if i put in his phone number? Will it ask me for a code from his phone?
I have an iPad 10th generation. The other day my headphones stopped working. I bought the aux wired headphones since the usb headphones weren’t out when I bought these over a year ago. I bought a usb connector from Apple in order to connect the headphones to the tablet and this worked fine. But when my headphones suddenly stopped connecting I figured they were broken since my cat has sometimes tried to mess with them. I thought buying a new pair was a simple fix and was happy to discover that they now had wifed headphones that would directly connect without the need for a usb connector. I bought these and found that they didn’t work at all either. It was as if the iPad didn’t even know headphones were plugged in. I decided to buy another aux earpods to see if it will work, since the previous pair did before. Once arrive I will see if they work with the adapter. But I’m worried that they won’t and I’ve tried everything I could. I reset my device, made sure sound was on, do not disturb mode is off, I’ve cleaned out the charging port of the device as well. The device charges just fine, I’ve used an adapter to plug a microphone in and that works normally too. The only issue is that headphones don’t work and I don’t understand why. Does anyone have a solution? My parents don’t want to take the device in to get it looked at so I don’t know what else I can do.

I wish Apple Silicon had the old Intel ability to restore from online. Could completely format the hard drive and re-install the latest MacOS directly from Apple as a fresh install. Now you are forced to create a bootable USB drive to do this.
These guides are so soulless and impersonable. What happened to the informative guided tours we used to get with new releases of Os X Apple?
what happens, if you have multiple users with different Apple-IDs on the MAC? Can one user reset the entire MAC, including all user accounts?

Cool! I just did this yesterday!
When I upgraded my M1 MacBook Air to the Sequoia Public Beta, I found that my pass couldn't connect to my network. The Mac showed that I was connected to Wi-Fi, also Ethernet AND my Personal Hotspot through my iPhone but still all my applications showed "no connection."
After a bunch of researching on my 13" MacBook Pro (2012) I learned how to restart my M1 MacBook Air with a Safe Boot and I found my network problems were resolved.
I looked into Login Programs and Extensions and disabled most of those. After the I was able to restart and login normally with full network connectivity.
It turned out a zombie Little Snitch network extension (I uninstalled Little Snitch a few months ago) had been blocking all network access.
I tried to reenable all the extensions and login items I had disabled but I couldn't find a couple, System Services and System Voices.
I figured the best way to restore everything was to do a "Nuke & Pave" and reinstall the system.
I used the trial version of Carbon Copy Cloner to back up my Mac and then reset the Mac as described in the video.
When I restarted I used Migration Assistant to restore everything from my backup except the system settings.
All better now.
