A common video tutorial I do here on the channel is showing you how to boot into and out of a special boot mode on Android called Recovery Mode. For most of us, when our devices are put into Recovery Mode it is because it’s an intended action. Meaning we are taking steps to make sure the device is put into this special boot mode.

The thing is, some times this happens by accident. Whether a button combination was pressed and held during a reboot or the phone just rebooted on its own. Whatever the reason, some times people see their Android smartphone or tablet boot into Recovery Mode and they need to use their hardware buttons to navigate the menus and reboot back into the Android OS itself.

Now, if you’ve ever had your device in the stock Android recovery mode then you likely know the touchscreen does not respond to taps. Instead, we have to use the hardware buttons to navigate the menu and confirm your actions. So what happens if the device in question doesn’t have a working power button?

Thankfully there’s still a way to boot out of Android’s recovery mode even if your power button is broken.

But to do anything, we first need to have some things set up ahead of time. So in order for our PC to make a connection to the smartphone or tablet, we need to have the OEM’s ADB/USB drivers installed. The location of this driver download will depend on who makes your phone.

For example, if you have a Samsung device then you should look for the Samsung USB Drivers for Android. Or if you have a Google Pixel smartphone then be sure to have Google’s USB drivers installed.

With that done, we also need to have ADB and Fastboot tools set up on our computer. I have done a couple of guides on this in the past and I’ll be linking to my latest one in the video description below.

once that is all set up, let’s go ahead and connect the device to the PC with a USB cable and open up a command prompt, terminal, or windows powershell in the same folder as our ADB and Fastboot tools.

The only method to deactivate a Samsung account from a phone without a password is to contact Samsung to locate and delete the account. If you wish to begin the procedure on your Samsung phone, follow the comprehensive instructions below.

  1. Unlock your phone, then launch the Samsung phone settings app from the app drawer.
  2. Scroll down until you see "Cloud and Accounts." Also, on the next page, select the "Accounts" tab.
  3. Then, from the choices, select "Samsung Accounts" and then "My profile." When prompted to enter your email address and password on the account screen, select "Forgot your ID and Password." A popup will appear on the screen; from there, select your preferred browser.
  4. A prompted browser prompts you to enter your ID and password, as well as your email address. After that, Samsung will send you an email with a link to reset your password.
